The animals are the soul of -MÓN- La Bassa
Món – la Bassa is a non-profit association that, beyond its educational project, continues to rescue lives on a daily basis, welcoming abandoned animals or rescuing them from centers of experimentation and exploitation. 300 animals of different species coexist in this sanctuary, each with its own story to tell.
Animals have the right to a life filled with love and dignity. Món – la Bassa is not a ZOO, the animals who live here are free and protected. When you visit Món – la Bassa you will be walking among the animals in their natural environment, getting to know them and love them.
Being in close contact with animals, help you to get in contact with your most human part. Animals are great teachers. Being around animals teaches you about relationships. Children and grown-ups alike learn that if they want to be liked and trusted by an animal, they’ll need to treat the animal carefully and kindly.
Learning to care for an animal helps us, humans, to learn how to care for other people.
All of the animals at -Món- La Bassa is either rescued or adopted. On many occasions they arrive in very poor condition, requiring special care and/or medication. We work with schools to instill in children a love for animals as well as the respect they deserve.
